The Junior Division of the Dallas Metroplex Musicians’ Association was organized in 2016 in Dallas, Texas. By doing this, DMMA is now aligned with the structure and charter of the National Association of Negro Musicians. We are fortunate to be able to develop, showcase and sponsor these talented youth. These students are provided the opportunity to learn directly from seasoned professionals while providing them the opportunity to perform in venues and travel to locations not always available to them. Students are required to maintain grades of 80 or above, exhibit good behavior, and citizenship. Membership in the program includes participation in activities such as performing for community events, churches, and conventions as well as competing in music festivals. The Junior Division participated and performed at the 2017 NANM national convention in New Orleans, Louisiana and will participate and perform at the National Association of Negro Musicians' National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada from July 22-26, 2018.
